For companies on a non-standard financial calendar, it would be very helpful to have the ability to configure custom periods for each month, rather than requiring that every period begin on the same day of each month.
I realize this would require reconfiguration each year, as dates are different. An acceptable compromise would be to be able to set the length of a period - for example, our year might start on January 3, and each subsequent period is 28 days long.

We would like to use our own Calander for timesheet submission(deadline). Currently the Period used for approval is either Monthly or weekly. We need to be able to select a date in the month. Which is unique for every month. Quite standard accounting rules.
We will be happy to configure the Calander ourselves. I feel at least a toggle option should be given for people to set their own approval period for each month of the year or choose default of monthly and weekly
Our "sprints" last between one and two months with changing start and end dates.
But we all share the same time frame.
It would be nice if our management could create the period for the whole team.
Similar to other commenters, our fiscal end of period is several days before the end of month. Without custom periods, incur late time submissions and no ability to close the period until after calendar month end.

Having the ability to set the fiscal which matches the financal calendar of the company - month / quarter is pretty essential (at least for us) in accounting the time / $ spend. Hours booked by the team equates to $ and the finance team need those $ allocated to the right fiscal month. To make use of Tempo we'll have to find a way to do this in post processing the data that is provided on export. It would be better if the hours were tagged insome way on export with the fiscal period (month) applied (that's how Microsoft PWA does it at least).
If Tempo pursues being a leader in the timesheet field they should implement it. A lot of organizations would use it.
For us it would be helpful having a way to set the end of period like - end of period = 4 working days before end of month.
I am looking for this functionality as well. We have a custom calendar for monthly time reporting that ends on the last sunday of each month. Once I run the report, it would be ideal to close the month prohibiting further time to be reported to it. Obviously based on our calendar requirements, start date of each month is not the same and the amount of days per month can vary as well.
I would like to match the Periods to our Sprints, so that team members can create dashboards (like the Tempo User Timesheet one) for the current sprint. Our sprints start on Tuesdays and end two weeks after on Monday (so for example 12th of May 2020 to 25th of May 2020, then the next Sprint 26th of May 2020 to 8th of June 2020, etc).
We are using the On-Premise version and need this functionality as well.
