Extension of Submission and Approval Period Configuration Irrespective of Approval Period Selected

Currently in the product it seems for weekly approvals users get a 3 week grace/extension period to submit and get timesheets approved and 3 months for a monthly period. Is it possible to configure this and make it 3 months grace/extension period for our instance for any approval period selected(For our organization its weekly).
