Office365/Google Calender -- issue picker optional as opposed to required

When using Tempo timesheets and the Office365 calender integration can the "issue picker" field be optional as opposed to required?

Not every calender event will relate to a issue in Jira and since the issue picker field is required we either can't fully use the O365 calender integration or spend cycles creating fake Jira issues in order to link. Seems the better approach is to allow the issue picker field to be optional
