Tempo API for Period Management

user would like to manage the Period Management part via REST API

It would allow automation of some features, such as closing during non-business hours, while also implementing rules for approvers without needing to use a team to access them in an admin manner.

We would benefit from this for similar reasons. Our Accounting periods do not open and close the same days each month; they adjust monthly according to business days available at the end of the month. For example, last month, the 27th got us 4 business days for month end. This month the 28th gets us 4 business days for month end.

Because we can't move the end date, people are 'locked out' from entering their time if the date falls past the dates we have set up for the previous month (current capability). The calendar goes gray, and is locked. This is what we want, but we want to be able to adjust the date that happens each month.

In addition, our inability to manage the start date poses a risk to overreporting our capitalizable time, which could happen with the current functionality. That's tax fraud 🥸

Our current Accounting period is an example of that:
The system thinks the period ended the 27th, because that's the previous date period we entered, and can't change month by month
Our July period actually ended the 28th
We manually reopened the period so that time could be captured the 28th
Now the 28th is in 2 accounting periods
July - because the system date says it ended the 27th, but we captured time through the 28th
August - because the system date says we start the 28th because we can't customize the dates

The manual work around is to be sure our Accounting people adjust the dates of their reports (error prone if they forget or a new person pulls the report which defaults to the system dates), but it doesn't solve periods closing the same date each month and the flood of people messaging us that they're getting an error on the last day of the Accounting period we published.

Thank you for your consideration of our request!

I think this can be really useful feature. For example we have a need at the moment to have previous period be closed on the 5th of next period(close July on 5th August for example). It would be great if this can be automated.
