You should be able to see that your timesheet is approved when you view an already approved timesheet.
For a regular employee of my company this is not a big deal. Having the separate "approval" log doesn't make much of a difference, but for our contractors who send their hours weekly to their contracting company they need to be able to show that the timesheet is approved to get paid.
Not being able to see that the timesheet you are viewing is "Approved" unless you are an approver seems constrictive.
