We would like to request a feature that enables approving and submitting time entries based on Work Attributes, rather than the current all-or-nothing timesheet period approach.
We use Work Attributes extensively to distinguish between different types of logged time — most notably ONCALL hours. Our requirement is to review and approve only the time entries related to the ONCALL work attribute, without requiring full timesheet approval across unrelated logged time (e.g., development, meetings, admin).
For example:
A team member logs 3 separate entries across 3 nights tagged with the ONCALL attribute.
The reviewer validates the first 2 entries but questions the third.
The ideal behavior would allow the reviewer to approve only the validated entries and leave the questionable entry pending — without being forced to approve the entire timesheet or reject all entries.
We do not wish to enforce timesheet approval company-wide, as it would introduce unwanted blockers for teams not involved in ONCALL activities.
Adding this flexibility would improve governance, traceability, and accuracy for time-critical activities such as support escalation and on-call compensation.
It supports partial approval workflows, which are common in many modern operational models.
Enable filtering of time entries by Work Attribute in the Approvals view.
Allow submission and approval of individual worklogs based on Work Attribute.
Include visual indicators or grouping by Work Attribute to assist reviewers.
Increases adoption of Tempo's native approval flows without overburdening teams.
Aligns with accounting and compliance requirements for CAPEX/OPEX split in time reporting.
Reduces risk of approving inaccurate or unverified hours.
