Hi Tempo team,
I’d like to request an improvement to the worklog duration input in Tempo Planner and Tempo Timesheets (cloud).
Currently, when logging time in Tempo (e.g. from My Work / Planner), the duration field only accepts hours/minutes formats such as:
8h
4h
30m
0.5h
However, Jira’s native Log Work dialog supports “Jira time” units like:
1d (converted to 8h)
2d
1w
In Tempo’s UI, entering 1d is not accepted/parsed, which makes it less convenient for users who think in days rather than hours, especially in teams where:
A standard workday is defined (e.g. 8h/day), and
Planning and reporting are done in days (e.g. “I spent 1.5 days on this task”).
Requested enhancement:
Please add support for Jira-style duration units in Tempo’s duration fields, so that users can enter:
1d → automatically interpreted as the configured workday (e.g. 8h)
0.5d → half a day (e.g. 4h)
Optionally, 1w → standard workweek (if aligned with Jira’s time tracking settings)
Ideally, Tempo would respect the time tracking configuration from Jira (hours per day, days per week) and convert these units to hours internally.
Benefits:
Better consistency with Jira’s native behavior.
Faster, less error‑prone logging for users who think in days.
More intuitive usage in Planner, where capacity is often discussed per day.
