Currently, the Scheduler tool triggers email reminders only as a precursor to automatically closing a period (Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Monthly). I am requesting a new configuration option that allows the Scheduler to send automated reminders without triggering a period closure.
The reminder system and the closing action are "all-or-nothing." Users who want to utilize the system's automated reminders to improve compliance are forced to also automate the closing of the period. This lacks flexibility for teams that:
Have varying approval timelines.
Need to send multiple "nudge" emails throughout the week.
Prefer to manually review data before performing a final close.
Maybe we could ntroduce a toggle or a new "Action Type" within the Scheduler settings:
Action: Close Period & Remind (Current Behavior): Sends emails and then locks the period at the scheduled time.
Action: Reminder Only (New): Sends the configured email template to the target audience at the scheduled time, but leaves the period Open for further edits/submissions.

We would also strongly support this feature.
Our organization would like to use Tempo reminders weekly to improve timesheet discipline, while keeping period closure monthly and managed separately. Currently, reminder emails being tightly coupled with automatic period closure creates unnecessary limitations for enterprise workflows.
An “email reminders only” mode for Scheduler would be extremely useful and would better support organizations with monthly accounting periods and more flexible operational processes.
