Reason / business case
Client has a matrix organization with people shared across many projects. Today, Gantt only “sees” the work in its own scope and its own calendar, while real availability lives in Capacity Planner (including other projects and calendar events).
This creates false availability in Gantt: a person can look free there while Capacity Planner already shows them fully booked by another project or by meetings/holidays.
As a result:
Gantt-based resource leveling and dates are unreliable.
Project managers may over‑commit the same people across different structures.
Portfolio commitments and delivery dates become risky because planning tools don’t agree.
If Gantt could consume Capacity Planner availability, Azimuth would get:
One source of truth for capacity across all projects.
More reliable cross‑project scheduling and leveling for shared resources.
Lower risk of overload, delays, and re‑planning in their matrix setup.
