Currently, when a period is locked or closed in Tempo (via Period Management, Scheduler, or after submission), the restriction only applies to worklog-related actions such as creating, editing, or deleting worklogs.
However, users and reviewers are still able to:
Submit timesheets
Approve timesheets
Reject timesheets
Re-open timesheets
even after the period has been marked as locked/closed.
For organizations using locked periods as part of financial controls, compliance, payroll validation, and reporting governance, this creates confusion because a “locked” period is generally expected to prevent any further workflow actions or state changes.
Requested Enhancement:
Provide an option/configuration in Tempo to fully freeze timesheet workflow actions once a period is locked or closed.
Expected Behaviour:
Once a period is locked/closed:
No further submissions should be allowed
No approvals/rejections should be allowed
Timesheets should not be re-openable
Workflow states should remain immutable unless the period is explicitly unlocked by an administrator
Suggested Improvement:
Introduce an admin-level configuration, such as:
“Restrict all timesheet workflow actions after period lock”
This would help organizations maintain stronger audit control, reporting consistency, and financial governance.
