Since the migration to Forge, the Account field in JQL no longer offers a dropdown for selecting accounts. Users now have to type the account name manually using Account.name ~ "..." syntax.
Why this matters:
Our users don't know the exact account names by heart – they relied on the dropdown to browse and select the right account.
Account names in our setup are long and structured, making free-text input error-prone.
There's no reliable way to do a "starts with" or prefix search, so filtering for a group of related accounts (e.g. everything starting with atlassian - rovo 2026) is very cumbersome.
The previous dropdown experience was intuitive and efficient – the current text-based approach is a significant step back in usability.
Request:
Please consider bringing back a dropdown or autocomplete picker for the Account field in JQL (Basic Mode), similar to how it worked before the Forge migration. Even a type-ahead search that matches on the account name prefix would be a huge improvement over the current free-text-only approach.
