Currently, all calendar entries are considered planned capacity in the capacity planner. This leads to inaccurate capacity allocation because many users create calendar entries that do not represent actual project or work activities.
Examples include:
Lunch breaks
Working from another location
Personal reminders
Focus time blocks
Free/busy placeholders
Other informational calendar entries
Provide a configuration option that allows users or administrators to select which calendar event types are included in capacity planning calculations and visualizations.
Possible options:
Include only meetings with attendees
Include only events marked as Busy
Exclude events marked as Free
Exclude categories such as lunch breaks or reminders
Allow custom category-based filtering
Allow administrators to define global rules
This enhancement would:
Improve the accuracy of planned capacity calculations
Prevent blocked or informational time slots from being interpreted as productive workload
Reduce false resource constraints
Provide a more realistic view of team availability and capacity
The capacity planner currently treats all calendar entries as planned capacity. As a result, blocked time slots such as lunch breaks, location reminders, focus blocks, or events marked as "Free" are incorrectly displayed as allocated capacity. Users should be able to define which calendar event types are considered for capacity planning to ensure accurate resource utilization reporting.
