The Tempo VS Code extension currently populates the timesheet task Description with the Git branch name, but leaves the Work Item field blank.
Where the branch name contains or can be associated with a Jira issue, the extension should suggest and prefill the corresponding work item, for example IB-42, so that when the timesheet is reviewed, a single click to confirm the time worked is needed.
This would match the Tempo Timesheet Outlook integration, which recognises an issue ID prefixed to a meeting title, prefills the associated work item, and lets the user accept the suggestion when completing the timesheet.
Currently, if your branch is something else ambiguous, there is no easy way to quickly identify the task. Adding task ids to branch names is one way to reduce clicks. But there may be more direct ways.
