Instead of having only weekly or monthly, having also the choice of having a Bi-weekly approval period sync with the company bi-weekly payroll schedule would be really usefull.
Exemple : I set Bi-Weekly then I choose wich date the period start. So from this date, each range of 14 days would be an approval period.

Adding a use case for this, with one requirement on top of the original request.
We approve project hours monthly and capitalise on a monthly basis. Users submit their timesheet around day 23, so the last days of the month are an estimate and later corrections are normal. With monthly approval periods, any correction reopens the approval block for the whole month, including hours approved weeks earlier. Weekly periods are not an option for us: our project approvers each cover several projects and cannot approve every week.
A biweekly period would fit, but only if the periods do not cross month boundaries. A rolling 14 day cycle from a fixed start date drifts across month ends, which for monthly capitalisation reproduces the same problem as weekly periods.
Our request (see also T-I-3660) is therefore a semi-monthly option, day 1 to 15 and day 16 to the end of the month, alongside the 14 day cycle proposed here. Both serve the same need, aligning the approval period with the cycle the company actually closes on, whether that is payroll or accounting.
Hello Kathryn, as I am based in Australia (AEST), I do not see a time that would be suitable for us both. I would have loved to talk to you about our use case – so here is a write-up instead …
The most preferred change would be for the approval period to be selectable. This is because our invoicing periods are approximately mid-month and end-month. We use Approvals to close off the periods to any changes to invoiced timesheets, and additional Client Billable time being entered for past invoiced periods.
Thank You,

I also agree. In a world were the Software Development is mainly scheduled in Sprints, this feature should be a "must have".
Agree! We also need that
As needed this very much
Agreed. Most companies run bi-weekly pay cycles, not weekly or monthly.
