When you want to edit planned time from a period, I always just click on the planned period. When you then click on the period, you always have to manually set it from "per day" to "total", while the planned time was not per day, but total. So I would expect here that this is pre-filled based on what is planned already.
Besides that, when you then change it back to 'total', the scheduled time which was there then for 'per day', is not being translated to 'total' automatically. Also this is confusing and not what you would expect.
