Right now we have to maintain the cost rates and roles per project. However, they are nearly always the same for a particular person across all projects.

Hi, a quick note to let you know that rates can now be set globally to individual roles in Global Settings. When assigning roles to individuals in projects or in teams, the global rates are applied automatically for each individual. Cost rates and Billing rates can also be overwritten at the project level, where necessary.

I can see 3 related enhancement requests for tracking costs. This ticket, and also https://ideas.tempo.io/ideas/VPRO-I-34 and https://ideas.tempo.io/ideas/VPRO-I-37.
TO me this seems to be the best option presented - to define at a person level their default role, and their default cost. This would simplify project setup quite a bit for larger teams (and help stop us from making a mistake).

I agree with Oana Lescae, with the caveat that we need to be able to make custom roles. If it is limited to the roles out-of-the-box, it is less helpful.

This feature is very useful for us too. But we need a default cost rates per role, not per person, with the option to modify the rate it in the project or Account.
