Our budgets are fixed, and we don’t want people to change the “remaining estimate” it should always remain original estimate - time logged.

The panel that opens when a user tries to log time should be configurable. Adding functionality for admins to be able to add/remove fields (including Remaining Estimate) would be efficient enough.
Permissions for Tempo need a lot of work and this is definitely a critical element for us to lock down as well. Not sure why this would be "unlikely to implement" when it has so many votes. I'd hope Tempo would listen to what it's customers needs.

We do want the remaining estimate to reflect the original budget, regardless of how much work is left. Where we have many problems is people mistakenly updating this field, when they didn't mean to. We have strict budgets and want the remaining estimate to literally be a calculation based on original estimate minus time logged. Thus, we can accurately tell how much of the estimate has been used. Then, if we need to update the budget, a Manager (not regular users) will update the original estimate and the remaining estimate to new values based on overall budgets at a higher level. Please re-consider this feature as it is very important for us!
Sorry, why would you not have a remaining estimate that reflects the actual work left? The commercial model (fixed price) should be kept separate from estimate work?

Thanks Andrew. This is essential for our team, since people mistakenly update the remaining estimate. We have fixed budgets, and don't want them to have the ability to update this field.
