Hi Tempo team,
We’d like to suggest a feature enhancement related to time entries and the Account field behavior.
Initial support ticket: TCS-93779
Current behavior:
When a user logs time to an issue, the time entry inherits the Account field from that issue. However, if the user later changes the issue on the time entry, the Account field remains unchanged — it still reflects the original issue’s account, even if that account is no longer valid for the new issue.
Why this is a problem:
This can lead to incorrect billing or reporting, especially in environments where account codes are tightly tied to projects or financial tracking. Users who move worklogs to a different issue often expect the Account to follow suit, especially if they’re correcting a mistake. Instead, they’d need to manually update the Account, which is easy to miss.
Suggestion:
Add an option (via setting for example) to automatically update the Account field based on the new issue when a time entry is edited and reassigned to a different issue. If historical integrity is a concern, this could be optional or include a confirmation step when editing.
Thanks for considering this.
Regards.
