We recently realized Time Tracker gadgets for dashboards are not available from Jira Smartphone App. If we use a browser in a smartphone (i.e. Chrome) the gadget is available and displays properly but it forces uses to toggle between two apps. Please consider this as a future improvement as it will allow remote workers to work with the gadget more efficiently.
The biggest use-case for my organization is remote staff always on the road, providing support to end-users at their site and then having to log their time.
