We use Tempo Financial Manager and Tempo Timesheets in Jira Cloud with Project Time Approval enabled. Our project owners are the default approvers for their projects. When they submit time logged on their own projects, they have to approve those hours manually. This adds a step at month-end, when our PMO uses the approval status from Tempo in Power BI to determine which hours are eligible for capitalization.

Please add an optional setting per project that automatically approves a project owner’s own hours when they submit their timesheet. The approval should be recorded in Project Time Approval, identified as automatic in the approval history, and exposed through the existing API so reporting can use the approval status recorded in Tempo.

The setting should be off by default and apply only to the project owner’s hours on that project. The project owner’s hours on other projects, other team members’ hours, and approval of the full timesheet should follow their existing workflows.
