Currently it is considered "working as designed" that a parent issue will change its Team value to "INHERIT" when editing the ticket, if it is linked to an Epic.
The problem is that this happens even if the Epic does not have a Team value set, resulting in a loss of data on the parent issue (or needing to manually re-set the value on each issue edit). For projects who track the team at the parent issue level and not at the Epic level, this is very frustrating.
The proposition is for parent (and sub-task) tickets to only default to INHERT if the Epic (or parent) actually has a Team value, or to provide a setting that disables auto-inheritance entirely.
