This feature is very important to us. We have resource requests that come in from an external system as Jira tasks. We've created a board that shows those tasks for the resource manager to review and assign resources to. The details of the task (that include the type of resource that is needed and how much time is requested) are only visible on the task. Therefore, we need to be able to assign generic resources through the task, so that we can get them onto the planner and assign true resources later in the process.
