Restrict users if they are entering time less than defined hours. For example: We want users to enter time minimum of 40 hours per week which is 8 Hours per day. If someone enters time less than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, restrict user to save the logged time
By the way, we don't want to use the approval process to minimize the complexity .
